Naturally Curly Hair

Natural Curly Hair

I used to have a lot … now … not so much.

My wife is Asian and has long, beautiful straight hair.

The question is still out there … Will Jade keep her curls?

Jade is over 3 and she hasn’t had her hair cut yet.

My wife doesn’t want to part with those cute baby curls (photo below).

Baby Curls

Personally, I think Jade will keep some wave.

If her hair dries naturally, the curl will come out.

Otherwise, the blow drier will flatten it out.

My wife doesn’t believe me. But then again, she never does (haha).

Jade Is A True “Arteest”

Jade's Drawing Station

Jade at her art station (our kitchen table).

Thankfully, she can become very absorbed while drawing.

Jade says they’re doing the “Move it, Move it” dance.

Making Kooky Faces

Cheerio Face

A face a father could only love (haha). A funny face for Jade.

Whoops!!! … Jade replied by assembling her own creation. So much fun!!

We were inspired by the new Big Block Singsong cartoons on CBC Kids. Awesome Stuff !!!

Monkey See, Monkey Do, Monkey Love

Monkey Love

My wife monkeyed around with some crayons and drew this for Jade.

Documenting a beautiful time creating art together.

Zombie Party Tricks

Another kooky Halloween doodle for Jade.

She has a love/hate relationship with zombies.

I Will Never Leaf You

It’s raining outside but we’re still having fun.

An overview of our “play station.”

Jade named the drawing and she also “wrote” the caption in red.

A fun snail detail from our final drawing.

“I’ll Never Leaf You” … the final drawing.

All My Heart

With all my heart, I love you Jade.

Detail of crayon and watercolour.

Gratitude

In Canada, today is Thanksgiving. I’m eternally grateful for the moments of love with my family.

I’m also very thankful for Art’s ability for us to grow and connect.

Happy Thanksgiving Day.
