Dreaming of Yummy Gardens

Carrot Drawing

We only have small carrot sprouts poking out now … but one day sooooon !!!

On the other hand, our beans and peas are really growing.

Garden Greens

I asked for “Pressed Pants” not “Plants” !!!

Pressed Plants / Drawing

All joking aside, Jade and I had a blast at StrongStart yesterday.

StrongStart is a FREE early education program in BC, Canada.

The top drawing is a fun doodle from our pressed plants (shown below).

Pressed Plants / 2

Jade really loved being in the trails and picking leaves and flowers.

And I really liked drawing from our exploration.

This exercise helped me focus on unique details and shapes of our local plants.

Rainy Flower Doodle

Rainy Flower Doodle

A quick drawing for Jade from last year.

Last week was really wet … Finally the rain stopped.

Great day enjoying the flowers outside together.

The Enchanted Forest

The Enchanted Forest

The past while, I’ve been going through Jade’s old drawings.

This was her first image with trees.

It was a favourite during the summer.

Christmas Center of Attention

Christmas Tree / 1

Three is such a wonderful age and Jade has been fascinated by our Christmas tree.

ChristmasTree / 3

Our family stares at the lights for hours and we talk about the all different ornaments.

Christmas Tree / 3

There are a few gifts under the tree and Jade likes guessing what they are.

It’ll be so fun around the tree and finally unwrapping our presents.

Autumn Leaf

Autumn Leaf,

Jade & I had a beautiful walk today.

… Remembering the leaves floating down the river.

Loosing Leaves

The tree in front only has a few leaves left.

Rainy Day Doodles

Fun family time together!

It’s still rainy weather outside but we’re still doodling.

Jade draws a “glowy chicken” on the iPad.

A leaf rubbing detail.

A detail of my wife’s fun doodles.

A graphic expression of the letter “S”.

A detail of my “Mambo” doodle.

Jade drew “Steppy” on her head.

Jade said, “This is a lion.”

“This is a dragon.” Jade tried writing the caption near her drawing.

She also said, “That’s a mushroom” for the shape under the dragon.

“This is a sun.” Jade describes her drawing.

“It’s a little worm parade.” Jade explains the bottom squiggles on the page.

The 2nd and 3rd squiggles are “meows.”

Family Tree

Talking to my daughter about the many people and parts of our family.

Picking Blackberries

Jade and I LOVE picking (and of course eating) berries.

Official Blackberry Tester … To ensure “quality control”, Jade always tests the berries for me.
