The Snow Queen
Looks like Lady Winter has arrived early this year in Vancouver.
My drawing is inspired by the story The Snow Queen from Hans Christian Andersen.
The swirls in the image are inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s painting Starry Night.
It’s beautiful outside. Below is a photo from of our local trails.
The Mesmerizing Northern Lights
A hint of Arctic air.
It was chilly in Vancouver today.
I was telling Jade about the beauty of the Northern Lights.
I grew up in the Canadian prairies and we’d see them often.
The Northern Lights dance, glow and shimmer across the dark sky.
The Canadian winter brings many moments of creative beauty.
Yesterday, during a family walk, I photographed some ice.
Always appreciate the simple beauty around you.
Sledding Full Speed Ahead !!!
Jade’s starting to love winter activities.
She’s especially loving her sled lately !!!
The Excitement of Christmas Morning
Jade was feeling so happy Christmas morning!!!
Our festive home was decorated with our drawings and paintings.
Unfortunately, I was feeling the chills from on oncoming flu (blah).
But most importantly, Jade opened her presents !!!
Thank you Jade for making our Christmas so special.
Love,
Mom and Dad :)
Santa’s Final Inspection
For the last time, Santa double checks the toys before his big flight.
Jade insisted I draw a ball of yarn for mom.
The Goofy Reindeer
One of the reindeers was feeling sick — and Goofy is ready to fill in (haha).
Christmas Center of Attention
Three is such a wonderful age and Jade has been fascinated by our Christmas tree.
Our family stares at the lights for hours and we talk about the all different ornaments.
There are a few gifts under the tree and Jade likes guessing what they are.
It’ll be so fun around the tree and finally unwrapping our presents.
