Looks like Lady Winter has arrived early this year in Vancouver.
My drawing is inspired by the story The Snow Queen from Hans Christian Andersen.
The swirls in the image are inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s painting Starry Night.
It’s beautiful outside. Below is a photo from of our local trails.
Playing Outside for Jade’s 5th Birthday !!!
My daughter is super, super excited about her upcoming birthday this month.
She will be FIVE and starts kindergarten in September. It is a very exciting time !!!
Initially, Jade wanted to draw herself juggling … but she changed her mind while drawing.
A goofy creation of mine during our “Art Time” with my nieces and nephews at Grandma’s.
We just came back from Grandma’s home in Saskatchewan.
Grandma is “old school” and doesn’t have any cable tv or internet connections.
Because of that, we spent a lot of time drawing, going to to the playground, etc.
Jade had a wonderful time seeing all her cousins, aunts, uncles …
And Jade especially loved seeing her Grandma again.
Lately, we’ve been dog-sitting our neighbour’s amazing black lab.
The dog’s name is Gunnar and he’s eight years old.
He has the perfect temperament for children.
Gunnar doesn’t jump up on people and he doesn’t lick faces either.
He’s the perfect friend for Jade.
She absolutely adores him.
Jade drew the fun character and then I thickened the lines (above).
We made a bunch of drawings and Jade danced around (below).
My daughter Jade, my lovely little astronaut ♥
