Visiting Unikitty at Cloud Cuckoo Land

Unikitty

Jade’s been talking about The Lego Movie for months now … Jade’s gone Lego Movie crazy !!!

Jade still isn’t very comfortable using scissors so we brainstormed a project. She really wanted to create something with the Unikitty character (I had nooo idea what she was talking about). After some internet research, we recreated Unikitty’s home in Cloud Cuckoo Land.

Finally, last week we purchased The Lego Movie DVD … and now I finally “get it” !!!

Awesome !!!

The Lion Plant

The Lion Plant and Rainbow

The lion and plant are very happy after the rain … (cue the rainbow).

Love Perseveres

Love Perseveres

There’ll always be darkness in life.

Always believe, trust in each other … And have patience.

Love will persevere and find a way.

Painting Quirky Colour Lines

Quirky Colour Lines

Sometimes Jade likes to make different brush marks all over the page.

I love this approach — especially when she uses different colours.

It’s always interesting to photograph different sections. Below are some examples:

Playground Time !!!

PLAYGROUND TIME

Yes, beautiful outside!!! (No Vancouver rain)

Time to play!!!

Rainy Day Doodles

Fun family time together!

It’s still rainy weather outside but we’re still doodling.

Jade draws a “glowy chicken” on the iPad.

A leaf rubbing detail.

A detail of my wife’s fun doodles.

A graphic expression of the letter “S”.

A detail of my “Mambo” doodle.

Jade drew “Steppy” on her head.

Jade said, “This is a lion.”

“This is a dragon.” Jade tried writing the caption near her drawing.

She also said, “That’s a mushroom” for the shape under the dragon.

“This is a sun.” Jade describes her drawing.

“It’s a little worm parade.” Jade explains the bottom squiggles on the page.

The 2nd and 3rd squiggles are “meows.”

Leaf Weaving

Creating a “rainbow” blend of leaves along our fence (inspired by Andy Goldsworthy).

1. Sorting our leaves.

2. Stacking and “blending” the colour.

3. The pile is organized to create “rainbow” blend.

4. Leaves are put on the fence (background).

5. A detail of the colourful leaves on the wire fence.

Jade Is My Sunshine

Jade was happy to see her painting on the wall in her StrongStart classroom. StrongStart is a FREE early ed program in BC, Canada.

Little Miss Rainbow

Jade’s best friend is so happy and colourful! My wife drew this fun chalk art.
