Jade’s Home and Workspace
Our family almost always paints or draws at our kitchen table.
We’ve thought long and hard about how to best integrate our family’s art space and material.
Firstly, we wanted to incorporate Jade’s art into the work space.
We also wanted our art resources / materials to be easily accessible.
For a final touch, we envisioned Jade’s paintings in our living room.
Last month, we went to Ikea and purchased some Expedit bookshelves.
For us, it’s a perfect space solution.
Today, I put up Jade’s art in our living / working area (pics below).
The “I Love You” Sheep
Jade named and drew this fun doodle.
This guy lives in the city and likes to make toys.
He likes to eat purple and pink jelly beans.
Wiggling Ice Skaters
Jade painted this at StrongStart before the holidays.
I’m the red skater and Jade is in gold.
I think we’re with the Canadian Olympic team (haha).
Jade really enjoyed skating with me earlier this month.
We’ll have to go again soon.
Pre-School Paint Presentation
Jade gives me a personal presentation of her latest painting.
It’s fun listening … But even better watching her paint.
Jade’s Digital Doodle Bunny
We downloaded an iPad app called ‘Drawing Carl’ and Jade’s really into it.
She had fun exploring the different features (pattern fills, mirror drawings, etc).
This is my fave from the other day.
Now Santa, Let’s Get This Straight …
Our family started a tradition last year of “drawing” our letter to Santa. This year, Jade asked for a “Minnie’s Bowtique” toy. Pictured is a warm winter sun, Minnie, Goofy and the brightly coloured bows. I added the text and snowflakes.
Last year, we requested a toy kitchen set. Santa really enjoyed listening to Jade with her artwork. And most importantly, Jade had a lot of fun too.
Rainy Day Doodles
Fun family time together!
It’s still rainy weather outside but we’re still doodling.
Jade draws a “glowy chicken” on the iPad.
A leaf rubbing detail.
A detail of my wife’s fun doodles.
A graphic expression of the letter “S”.
A detail of my “Mambo” doodle.
Jade drew “Steppy” on her head.
Jade said, “This is a lion.”
“This is a dragon.” Jade tried writing the caption near her drawing.
She also said, “That’s a mushroom” for the shape under the dragon.
“This is a sun.” Jade describes her drawing.
“It’s a little worm parade.” Jade explains the bottom squiggles on the page.
The 2nd and 3rd squiggles are “meows.”
